JAPANESE RESOURCES

こんにちは! これは日本語資源。このツール(器具)が役に立つかも知れません。ありがとう!

JAPANESE RESOURCES - BASICS

TAE KIM - very detailed, computer help, grammar, basics, etc.
TOFUGU - more specific discussions about the japanese language
REDDIT DATABASE - Fairly short, not as thorough as links above.
POMAX - Very detailed, discusses history of japanese language/characters

PLEASE NOTE: I used tae kim, tofugu and the reddit database but i did not use pomax. I didn't know it existed at the time and haven't looked through it thoroughly. I have seen many people talk about it so I thought I'd include it.

JAPANESE RESOURCES - DICTIONARIES

I use jisho.org as a online dictionary.
The only physical dictionary I use is "Basics Kanji" by Matsuo Soga/Michiko Yusa. I do not believe it is easy to find (or buy) this book anywhere anymore as it was published in 1998.

JAPANESE RESOURCES - WEBSITES

not all of these websites are entire databases, many are just articles I find useful for studying and learning about japanese (from a basic/beginner level)

80/20 - Japanese sentence structure, particles (examples included)
TOFUGU DATABASE - all about japanese grammar
HIRAGANA - all about the main japanese writing system
ANKI - learn kanji basics (radicles, basic kanji, etc.)

PLEASE NOTE: I have not used anki before, i plan to eventually.
*using duolingo for grammar isn't wise but using the 'characters' tab is a good way to learn hiragana and katakana.

JAPANESE RESOURCES - PRACTICES

worksheets, tests, quizzes and possibly quizlets (in the future!) to practice and study with.

HIRAGANA - worksheets
KATAKANA - worksheets
HIRAGANA QUIZ - recognize the hiragana characters
KANA QUIZ - practice hiragana and katakana characters

JAPANESE RESOURCES - IMMERSION

The best way to learn Japanese is by immersion. Without living around those who speak fluent Japanese this can be very difficult. Here are some ways to imitate immersion.

1, JOIN JAPANESE DISCORD SERVERS : Here are servers I have joined

2, WATCH ANIME WITH JAPANESE AND ENGLISH SUBTITLES : animelon
*I recommend 'Nana' (ナナ)for those looking for something to watch.
